If you’re looking for a managed ecommerce platform then Shopify is the perfect fit. While technically Shopify is a WooCommerce platform (WP’s ecom system), in reality Shopify is targeting stand-alone ecommerce stores that are fine with giving up some customization/flexibility for an easier management experience. We think it’s the best ecom solution for 75% of ecommerce businesses.

The most-used CMS in the world by light-years. Occasionally it gets a bad rap, but that’s generally due to poor coding. We think it’s the most flexible, scalable and time-tested CMS out there – if you have a WP need, we have you covered.

In the Low/No-Code space, Webflow leads the pack and is great solution for a lot of websites/businesses (another good option is Framer). While we probably wouldn’t recommend Webflow (or any low/no-code platform) for larger or fast-growing businesses with diverse feature requirements, it’s a fantastic CMS for a lot of businesses that know their website is going to be relatively straightforward for the foreseeable future.

Headless is not a CMS but rather a technique for implementing a website that makes it extremely secure and exceptionally fast. It’s not something we recommend to a lot of businesses, in large part as it’s more expensive (both building+maintaining) but also because it’s far more complex and as such not as easy for marketers/non-developers to manage. But in the right scenario – headless is pretty amazing.
