WooCommerce BuddyPress Integration – Next Version Coming!

A new major version of WooCommerce BuddyPress Integration WordPress Plugin is coming end of November!

We are in the middle of a huge update with many improvements. The plugin became quite famous and we got a lot nice feedback for it, thanks for that at this point!

We have collected all ideas and feedback users gave us and have built them into the new version.

In this article we want to let you know what we have done so far and give you the option to let us know if we forgot something!

What we we did so far.

#1 – Many users asked us to create an admin option page to select what parts of the plugin should be active.

We did this at first.

Now you can turn off:

  • “Cart” Tab
  • “History” Tab
  • “Track my order” Tab
  • “Shop” Tab inside “Settings” for the activity stream settings
  • WooCommerce BuddyPress Profile sync: This will also remove the Billing Address – Shipping Address Tabs from Profile/Edit

#2 – We’ve been often asked how to add other WooCommerce extension pages into the member profile shop tab as a sub tab

We have built a tool for this.

With the new version it will be easy possible to add new pages to your member profiles and integrate other plugin pages directly with BuddyPress.

See the Screenshots ;-)

#3 – Some users asked us how they could integrate marketplace plugins like “WooCommerce Product Vendors” or any forms (for example for support)…

We have built a solution for this, too.

With our newest WordPress plugin BuddyForms you are able to create front end forms for product creation/editing and displaying all vendor products in the profile. Or include any other plugin which is based on custom post types.

We will write up a detailed documentation and how-to’s with examples for the most popular WooCommerce plugins. :-)

  1. I just bought the plugin yesterday and I noticed that you can’t update your credit card settings (using the Stripe payment gateway) on the my account tab (history using this plugin). Typically these show directly below the billing address.

  2. Hi,

I’m have a website which is implemented on the original plugin: Product Vendor by Mgates:
    http://shop.mgates.me/shop/wc-marketing/wc-product-vendor/

    – Will your plugin support the integration of this plugin as well as the woocommerce version?
    – Will it provide the users a front-end interface to create downloadable products, directly from the user profile?
    – Is there an option to send a private inquiry regarding a product to the vendor and keep the discussion inside the profile page of each vendor?
    – What is your timeframe for releasing both products which will allow this or similar functionality?
    – On the provided front-end does each user have his own media library?
    – On the profile page, will the user have the list of his/her downloads (purchases)?
    – If yes, on the last one, is there an option to have an additional button near the download link for the user to be able to contact the vendor regarding this specific product / ask for assistance / see products or services which may contribute to the already purchased product?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

    • Hi Tal_TT,

thanks a lot for your question

I will try to answer them as good as I can.

      – Will your plugin support the integration of this plugin as well as the woocommerce version?

–> It will integrate all plugins. It will need some configuration in the admin settings. But it should do the job.

      – Will it provide the users a front-end interface to create downloadable products, directly from the user profile?

–> This is possible with the BuddyForms plugin. BuddyForms will be available in the middle of december. See the latest blog posts and the RC version.

      – Is there an option to send a private inquiry regarding a product to the vendor and keep the discussion inside the profile page of each vendor?

–> This should be already possible in the BuddyPress 1.9 version

      – What is your timeframe for releasing both products which will allow this or similar functionality?

WooCommerce BuddyPress will be ready in the next days. Buddyforms needs some more attention and will be ready in the middle of december.

      – On the provided front-end does each user have his own media library?
–> Yes, this is WordPress build in. We use the Medialibery from wordpress. You get only displayed the attachments which belong to you.

      – On the profile page, will the user have the list of his/her downloads (purchases)?

–> Yes, wee need exactly this for Themkraft itself and this will be possible with the new features coming in the next days.

      – If yes, on the last one, is there an option to have an additional button near the download link for the user to be able to contact the vendor regarding this specific product / ask for assistance / see products or services which may contribute to the already purchased product?

–> This depends on the vendor plugin. For sure you can hook into content everywhere.

I will write a detailed documentation for both plugins and step by step tutorials how to make the usage easy.

As I can read from your questions.

These two plugins together should handle all woocommerce buddypress integration propblems and give you the tools you are looking for.

      Hope this helps you.

      Greetings
      Sven

  3. Hi Gonzo,

Sorry for the delay, I had a strong flue and couldn’t finish my work. The update will come in a couple of hours. Just need to do one final testing round now.

    Greetings
    Sven

  4. I have just uploaded the 1.3 beta version. You can download it now under your My Download section in your profile.

Extract the zip. There will be to versions 1.2 and 1.3 beta in the zip.

If no critical bugs pop up we will have a stable 1.3 version soon.

Thanks @all for the help and feedback. I have tried to build all your feature requests and ideas into the new version.

Please test and report, give us feedback.

I will start writing the documentation and how to’s now and come up with a blog post in a couple of days when the 1.3 stable version gets live.

Looking forward to your feedback ;)

  5. We were looking to use woocommerce, product vendors and buddypress to build a marketplace so this looks like the perfect tool for us. Any guesses on when to expect that guide to building a marketplace?

  6. Hi,

I am very interested to your plugins to create a market place.
Can your plugin integrate the woocommerce-booking-plugin? This plugin is an extension to woo commerce and allows to create events
    http://www.tychesoftwares.com/store/premium-plugins/woocommerce-booking-plugin/

Basically, i would like to allow users to create an event front end (through the creation of a woo commerce product) and to have it displayed (/ manage it) through their buddy press profile.

    Thanks a lot

    • Hi Etienne,

      thanks for your feedback.

This should be possible. I do not know the plugin, but if it’s based on custom post types I do not see a reason why not.

Because this is a premium plugin I can not test it. But if you run into any trouble please feel free to open a ticket and we will find out the solution together.

      • Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer, even though i was on holidays and i see it only now. What about the events calendar plugin and its add-on events calendar woo commerce ticket ? Do you think it could integrate with your plugin?

Basically, i would like to allow users to create an event front end (through the creation of a woo commerce product) and to have it displayed (/ manage it) through their buddy press profile.

This plugin is an extension from woocomerce. it is not compatible for now with buddy press and does not allow front end submission/management. I m not technical enough to say if it based on custom post type.
This add-on, that allows to sell ticket, is not free but the events calendar is.

        Thanks for your feedback.
